The transshipment bridge is a structural variation of the transshipment platform, which is made in the form of a folding platform from the loading ramp to the car body of the bridge. It is used to compensate for the difference in height between the car and the receiving overpass.
The basis of the design is the following components: an anti-slip platform, a traverse, fences and a spring.
At the moment of arrival of a car with cargo, the loading bridge is lowered to the edge of its body until the apparelli reaches a single plane. If the height of the floor in the body is the same as the height of the platform, an almost ideal plane for overloading of 180 degrees will be obtained. If the heights are different, the mechanical folding bridge compensates for them. After completing the overload, the bridge returns to its original position.

The most common are 2 options for installing hinged bridges:
1. Stationary. Fixed unloading at one point: this is in favor of the maximum load that can be sustained, and in most cases it is quite enough for a medium-sized company that receives cargo less than five times a working day.
2. Variable. Allows you to move the bridge along the platform. In this way, it becomes possible to quickly unload several cars. The bridge will move on a guide rail from one car to another along the ramp.
